Me personally, I got the pirate brig quests after finding the emerald. I can't exactly remember about the UFO but I know that you get the quests for it after completing other quests. Just keep doing the quests and be patient. I know some people want to rush to finish it but once it's done there is that much less to do til the next update.

I got the UFO quest after finishing the horrendous robot quest - catching 10x three diffrent robots. I was anticipating the UFO quest but it has been anti-climatic. I finished the last UFO related quest this morning and now I have no quests.
