Hi! I Need to update my ipad2 but every time I go to do it it pops up this nasty warning about losing everything. I backed up all my apps into itunes this morning but am still scared to go ahead with it because of the possible trauma I would be sure to experience if I lost my MM! Even though I'm angry with them & participating in various forms of the boycott I have to admit I dont want to lose my game. So if anyone has had experience with this please let me know so maybe I can get my nerve up & move forward some time today. Thanks so much for any help :-)

Oh dear, that's a new one to me. The only people I've heard do a successful update/iPad change without GI intervention, all specified that they used the cloud to back up.
Keep us informed, the info will be useful to others.. There's a sticky too about changing iPads which might have some info. X

Thank you, I did read that post but I wasn't sure if it would have the same outcome. I would like icloud that is my reason for updating the ios. Definitely dont want to ask GI for any help. Thank you so much I think at this point I have to get my nerve up & see what happens ;-)

I have ipad2 and updated for the same reason > icloud . I backed up what i could on itunes, took a screenshot of my manor & crossed my fingers 
i did not lose MM. Thou when i tried to open any of my apps they would'nt . Was told on another forum to go to itunes and download any free app, open it & close it, then you would be able to open other apps . It worked

Just thought i'd say everything went smoothly, updated ios & retrieved all my apps from itunes without a hitch yay! I am wondering if having game center had anything to do with it because i definitely received gifts during my update well after backing up into itunes & they were in my box when i got back on after update...not sure on that one i expected to lose everything i had done today so it was a nice surprise. Thanks for getting my courage up turned out to be no problem at all

i have game center too, not sure if it makes a difference 
never lost anything just couldnt open any apps afterward
