Exactly how does "Leave a Tip" work? Empty Exactly how does "Leave a Tip" work?

Post  slfranci Thu Mar 15, 2012 11:07 pm

I've noticed that I can leave a tip multiple times in the same room for a friend by leaving their manor and then returning. I try to leave more tips in the rooms they're likely to be working on based on their level. But I'm not sure what the end result is. Are they getting that green percent increase bubble multiple times if I leave multiple tips, or do they just get one from me with a higher actual percent of increase?

In my own manor, the % increase in experience, coins or likelihood of finding an item in the green bubble varies. So does anyone know how the system works? What determines the percent increase? Is it based on the total number of tips left in that room, who left it, or the experience level I've reached within the room?

Any insight on the tipping system would be greatly appreciated. When spending my strength to help my friends, I like to know that I'm using it to help them in the best possible way (in the hopes they'll do the same for me! Laughing).

    My understanding is this:

The type of bonus you leave depends on your profession.
The amount of bonus you leave depends on your level (experience level, not reputation level, I think)

If you re-enter their manor to leave a tip in the same room, they receive multiple tips for that room - that is, they can enter the room multiple times with your bonus. The bonus is not added together.

When you see multiple bonuses in your own manor, it means that multiple friends of your left you tips. When you click the room, it actually tells you which friend left the tip.

What I don't get (not to get off-topic) is why using a helper doesn't put them to sleep right away, most of the time. Usually, I can use the same helper over 10 times.

I've noticed that with my helpers, too. I always figured that multiple friends woke them up for me, allowing me to use them multiple times. That's just a guess, though. On the topic of helpers, I wish the game allowed you to see who woke them up so that friends would wake helpers first before leaving a tip. I personally prefer being able to use a helper over using a tip left in a room because I can choose which type of increase I want for each room, but a friend is more likely to leave a tip rather than waking a helper because that way they know you can see they helped you. Everyone wants to be rewarded for the help they give a friend, and you can't be rewarded for something if your friend doesn't know it's you who helped them. Just my own observation, for what it's worth. And that's probably not much...lol!

I've never been able to reuse a friend (@level2), they all fall asleep! :-<

From what you say here, you can't use both a friend's tip and a friend helper? I have been able to as long as the two are not the same kind of helper. Thus, increasing my experience and coins at the same time.

Right now, I've got a bonus that increases the chance of my finding something and coins by 10% for 7 days. Does that mean that I shouldn't use a friend's tip that increases coins until my bonus is over?

You can double up if you want. Ex: tip left for +8% exp you can use helper for 10% exp and get 18% more exp. I think as you level up you get to use them more before they sleep but not sure.

I think as you acquire more friends, more friends see your manor rooms needing hints and friends needing to be awaken even if that is not the case. When they add room hints or wake up friends, you can visit those rooms with hints more than once and use friends more than once.

No, I wasn't saying I couldn't double up on them. I can. I'm also using the same bonus that you have right now, and I use helpers in rooms that have had tips left. What I meant is that when I'm out of tips and all my helpers are asleep, I have to wait for my friends to leave more tips and/or wake my helpers for me. Inevitably, my friends will leave tips first and no one will wake my helpers until my rooms can't take any more tips. I always figured it was because the game doesn't tell you who woke your helpers, and when a friend helps you, they want you to know who did it. So because you can't see who woke your helpers, friends are likely to wake them as a last resort when no more tips cabe left.

Luckily, I have a couple of friends who wake my helpers daily for me, and I do the same for them. Like I said, it was just an observation. Very Happy

I see. I haven't had anyone wake up my friends...at least not that I know of. I'll have to pay attention. :->.

Another question? I find that the hunting room is choke full of items that can be found. More there than any other room. As a result, I tend to leave tips in that room more often than others, thinking they have the same thing..... Does anyone else have the same thing for the hunting room or another room that seems to have an abundance of gifts? Perhaps, my tip strategy isn't fallable....

I like to wake up my friends' helpers first. Once they are all awake, I check their level, and leave tips in rooms I think they'll likely go to at that level.

I generally leave tips in the perimeter rooms first since those are the ones I use the most and run out of tips in first. I figure if I'm searching those rooms the most, then others might be too. However, I still have a couple of rooms that aren't unlocked yet, and I don't actually know if once those rooms are unlocked if the quests might start directing you to the other rooms in the manor more. Like with anything else, the more experience I get, the more I learn.

Does anyone know if the profession assigned to you is the same for all your friends? For example, when you leave a tip in 20 different manors, are you giving all 20 friends an increase in the same area (coins, experience or likelihood of finding an item), or does it vary for each friend? It seems like it should vary so each person gets an even distribution of each of the three types of tips. But of course, there are a lot of things about this game that aren't exactly like they seem they should be. Rolling Eyes And I'm definitely not bashing on the game, because I really do like it. The more I play, the more I want to play. But there are a *few* things that I wish were different.

Yes - you leave the same bonus in every friends' manor.

I have a ton of findable items in hunting room. The past few days it is the only room I find anything in. I got four collection items in one search!

When I enter a room that has a tip from friend, I do not see which friend has left the tip for me. I'm on IPAD2. I've looked all over the info on the room I want to explore and do not see a Friend's name. What am I missing?

When you touch the room to open it, a box pops up with the friend's name and says something along the lines of "your friend has offered to help you". You have to click "accept" on that box before the box for the room opens up.

Have another question on this: i can give 10 tips to a friend. When does it reset? I always assumed on the next day, but somehow this seems not to be the case. Is it possible that the tipping counter resets only after the friend used my tips?

The number of tips you can leave a friend is dependent on your Level - it starts at 10 per friend and goes up to 15 I think. As your friend uses your tips you can go and top up. As has been mentioned the tips in a room stack up so if 5 have been left by different people in a particular room your friend will have to work through a number of tips before getting to yours, that's why the counter might not seem to reset daily.
There is so much to this game that isn't explained it's only by playing that you can figure out how it works - well you HOPE you have figured it out anyway! lol

At my lowest level, I was able to leave a maximum of 5 tips per person before reset. That number increased as my level increased. I'm almost level 51 and I can tip 10. I didn't know it went up to 15. That would explain why some of my friends have left well over 10 tips at a time! :-D

Just leveled up to Lvl 50 and my potential tips per person went up to 15. I try to leave at least 3 also. Wish I didn't have to spend so much strength on the ninja quests though. I like helping my friends! I'm slowly making my way through them.

no. you can go back in the next day and tip away, even if they have not been used. Usually the reset is every 24 hours, but sometimes there seems to be a glitch that it takes longer. Suspect

I should give up this game! After playing for about a month now, I thought when you gave a tip in a room it meant " the player would be able to find an item easier since you had been there. Had no idea that it had to do with the green box bonus. I wondered how a certain player was picked to help you, once you entered. It certainly is good that I somehow found this site. I have learned more in 3 days than a month of playing this game...LOL Smile))
