Oil cans x300

I was getting oil cans about every three to fours rooms I went in, but since this morning when I got the 300 can quest, I haven't been getting any >.<

This is an abomination of a quest. Don't waste your time. Use the Synthesizer, get the diamonds you need, buy the oil canisters.

I just started this quest...there was no warm and fuzzy it'll be ok feeling to be found here....woe is I

Hey don't forget the one battery that you also get. Finished the quest this afternoon. It's completion leads to a quest requiring a visit to the hallway and then the quest to open the lab.

Actually this quest is a part of a quests chain wich lead us to opening the UFO,so maybe in some way 270 diamonds wotrh it...but still it`s not right that if you have this quest oil cans din`t drop out,ridiculous

When I had this quest, I used a Turtle of Luck and after 6 hours and a ton of rooms, I only got 1, yes that's 1 oil can. I agree with Admin, just buy them. I don't think it is possible to complete this quest without purchasing the cans.

Lucky me. I just got this quest a few days ago. I have already finished the Neptune and Emerald. I thought I was going to luck out and get to skip this one. Nope, Not that lucky!!!

Wow, glad I read these posts. I'm off to the synthesizer to get my oilcans. What a waste of diamonds!!!

Yes indeed, Admin, we're still suffering from this quest!
Although the drop rate has improved after the latest update, but it's not impressive at all! I have this quest for almost 2 weeks now! I'm not willing to budge and use diamonds but.....I'm going no way

So true! I've had this quest for about 2 months. I've turtled, used magnets, cornucopia, you name it...I've gotten enough cans to banish 7 vacuum robots. I'm still in denial about using diamonds to buy the oil cans...and I'm distracted enough by monster quests right now. But I imagine I'll have to cave in at some point. The ROI on this quest is really bad. :-(

I am sure I can't be the only one but I completed the oil can quests without using diamonds. I noticed that after banishing phenomena from the lower rooms (living room, bedroom, kitchen) there is an oil can in the drop list when the curse is left behind. Providing you use the turtle you always get a can and occasionally 2 when searching the room with the curse. It doesn't work after the UFO but it works with the other phenomena. It took about 3 weeks in total. I had no choice because access to things like FB is limited in my country and I know nothing about code synthesiser. Currently have only the island quests to finish

You're not the only one. I'm working on the quest, too, and I refuse to use diamonds. I don't care of the quest grows mold before I get it done. I'll eventually get it done, one slow oil drop at a time, until it's all done. I've banished 5 vacuum robots so far. I figure if I could banish 5 without diamonds, I can banish 5 more. I hear it gets much worse, but that's fine. The quests can just sit there until I get them done. I'm in no hurry!

If you get a phenomena in African room, hall or Japanese garden then leave it there. Let other phenomena appear in the lower rooms. They come quite quickly especially if you leave one or two curses in the higher rooms as well. Phenomena don't appear in rooms with curses and they don't appear at all if you have 7 or more phenomena+curses so keep good count? Each time a phenomena appears in the lower rooms you can banish it normally and then deal with the curse. As you enter the cursed room check the drop list and the oil can will be there. Use a turtle to be sure and the whole thing is much faster if you use a golden rose+Phoenix. My record was 38 cans in 1 day. Good luck. By the way there are 3 of these oil can quests...........

I was wondering why I had so many cans dropping. Most of my rooms I am searching are cursed.

After double checking my cursed rooms oil cans are listed in the drop list of only the Bathroom, Kitchen, and Living Room. I have stone, witch, and evil eye respectively in those rooms.

Nbredman, thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten that the Bathroom also has oil cans with a curse. So there are 4 rooms where this happens (living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom). Not sure why I forgot about the bathroom because that was the room where I most often got the double oil can drop.

Don't forget to double click on close down to keep the curse in the room. Managed to get over 60 oil cans today, by my reckoning should only take a week or two to finish

Awesome tips everyone! I'm only on the 1st oil can quest to banish 10 vacuum bots, but thought it was gonna take me a year to finish!

Just thought I'd add that it would conserve energy to get the curse in the Living Room since it only costs 30 each time to enter (on Expert). I've been exploring that room non-stop as I also need to accumulate 50 flying monkeys!

Oh! and to get an Explorer friend to tip the room & bring an Explorer helper to increase your chances too!

Top tip Bovver! I was despairing at the simple achievement for banishing 50 TV robots and hardly ever got an oilcan.
Then, after starting the Island quests and realising I needed to get the UFO first ( to get the map part), I cried when I got the Strange Recording quest (Banish 10 of each robot).

Got a curse in all inner rooms ( except the bathroom typically) and I get an oilcan each time with a turtle, regardless of taking a helper.

Thanks for sharing that wicked observation about needing the curses in them for the cans.

NB. Banish 50 Television Robots is the 3 rd Ribbon for Programmers Achievement: Reward is 3 Illuminsti Lamps. So that's 500 oilcans!!
