Here's how to transfer MM to that new iPad you just got:

1 DO NOT DOWNLOAD Mystery Manor to the new iPad!

2 Plug your old iPad into your computer and back it up.

3 Plug you new iPad into your computer and do a Factory Restore. It will ask you twice if you want to do this. All settings and personal info will be erased! If it's new, you won't be loosing any data.

4 After the factory restore is finished, you will be asked if you want to start as a new iPad or restore a backup. Restore from backup using the old iPad backup you make a few minutes ago. You may have to scroll through the list to find it, but it will be there. After that is done, you will need it set up your wifi and basic settings again. Just follow the instructions.

That is all. I made the mistake of downloading the game and it was registered under a different friend code. I have an identical game with none of my friends. I am now trying to unregister the new iPad so I can transfer my game to it, friends and all. And who knows how long that will take. So, please, learn from my mistake.

If you made the same mistake I did by downloading a new MM game to your new iPad, you will have to contact GI and ask them to unregister your new iPad. When they unregister the iPad, follow the instructions above and start playing MM on you new iPad.

    Good luck!

Thanks for this info. If the iPad is fresh out of the box is there a need to do a factory restore? Does the factory restore do something special, even if it is brand new?

Not sure if the factory restore is necessary or not. I'm not sure if you can restore a backup from a different iPad to a new iPad, but what you wrote probably will work. If not, then follow the instructions and do the factory restore.

I successfully transferred MM (as well as Found, Secret Society etc) without doing a factory restore.
I backed up my old iPad to the PC (via iTunes) then plugged in the new iPad and chose restore a backup. Everything transferred seamlessly and have been playing, trouble free, for the last three days or so.
