Necromancer Crypt - Battle w/ Boss Wasted?

Has anyone experienced this with the boss battles?

I have battled the boss "rooms" (necromancer, general, vampire, etc.) before and after each battle, I've been rewarded a chest and the room was then opened for playing. Tonight, i battled in the Necromancer's Crypt and was ranked first and used all 20 hits allowed in the battle - so I'm out 20 arsenal items as well. When the battle ended, I received no reward, and the boss went away. The crypt is back to the 10 keys to start another battle, so it seems that I'm not receiving an award, not going to be able to complete the quest I was trying to complete, and not playing the room -- after paying diamonds for the keys (which was a stressful decision as I hoard diamonds!) and using most of my arsenal items.

I've submitted a support ticket to GI, but to be honest I'm not sure if or how they will resolve it.

I am curious, did GI help you with this? They never seem to "giveback," you know.

I had the same thing happen earlier this afternoon. There were three of us in the battle; two of us used up all our hits. The time ran out but we didn't actually reach the total required to defeat the boss. Still, in the past, in that situation, I've still received a chest and access to the crypt. Not so today.

Well every time I've played,if u don't make the 10,000 hits u lose. GI is not nice maybe theyused to give it, but they don't "give" anymore.

Perhaps I'm misremembering but I'm fairly sure that I've gotten some kind of chest and access to the room in the past even if the battle wasn't "won". But that scenario has been awhile for me, so it could be I don't remember correctly. I agree, though - if ever it worked that way, I doubt GI would leave that in place long and "waste" a potential revenue stream.

GI answered, but didn't really answer, the support ticket I had entered. They simply pointed me to the "Information" section, FAQ tab where the battle w/ bosses process is explained. If you read close enough, it does say that sometimes the boss is not defeated and the room is not opened and it goes back to the collecting keys phase.

However, once with the bunker and twice with the crypt, I was in first place in terms of damage and did not get a chest or open the room. I am still confused on how/why I lost those battles, when there have been times I've come in 2nd or 3rd and won chests and opened the rooms...
