Clocks going back in UK Empty Clocks going back in UK

    Post  Teresa2 Fri Oct 26, 2012 5:49 pm

    Hi
This does seem a daft question, but..........
I've read on a few posts that some players have been removed from MM, because they were accused of cheating, when changeling time-zones.
As we are about to change our clocks in the UK, will effect my game?
I assume my ipad will change its time automatically, will this "ping" up in GI that I'm cheating?
Have any other UK players been playing during this crazy thing we do every April & Oct????
    Thanks

I'm hoping it won't affect the game, as they go back officially at 2 am my Ipad should be shut down.

I've read that if you cross time zones you should shut the game down so hoping that will be enough.

I haven't had a problem when the clocks have changed although I suspect I wasn't actually playing when it happened. I also tend to shut the game down fully at the end of the day so I am intending to do this again and hope all goes smoothly. Given that there are quite a few UK players GI should notice that the clocks have changed as it will affect lots of people at once!

    Fingers crossed

I survived Daylights savings time change here in the U.S. in the spring without doing anything unusual. That said, the way GI has been "hunting" players, I'd take all precautions!!

What a shame it is that players have to worry about the game developer possibly accusing them of cheating just because of something as simple as Daylight Saving Time. Even if GI doesn't accuse anyone of cheating due to the time change, just the fact that players are afraid they might is simply unreal.

I have been highly active on computers since 1986, and in all those years, I have played hundreds, if not thousands, of different games written by developers all over the world. This is the first and only time I have ever seen players truly afraid that the game developer would falsely accuse them of cheating like this. It only serves to emphasize just how aggressive, disrespectful, and downright slanderous GI is as a company towards what are supposed to be their customers.

Tell me — what other game or any other software does anyone run (now or in the past) on their phone (iPhone or android), tablet (iPad or android), or computer (Mac or PC) that has elicited a fear of being falsely accused of cheating due to the Daylight Saving Time change?

GI stands alone as being the only one. That speaks volumes about GI.
